
How to Clone a WordPress Website? – Easy Steps

In this article, you will see how to clone a WordPress website in the Seekahost client area itself. Before that, let’s see what is cloning and the benefits of the cloning website.
What is Cloning?
Cloning is a simple process that saves the copy of your website with all the files. Exactly, it is a duplicate of your website.
So both websites are separate. If you have made any changes to one website, it will not affect the other website. Because of this, you can do any changes and inspections on your websites.

Steps to Clone a WordPress website:
Step 1: Log in to the SeekaHost India Client area by entering your registered mail id and Password. In the client area itself, you can manage all your WordPress operations.
Step 2: After logging in to the client area, select the package from the “Your Active Products/Services” field or select the “Services” and find the WordPress Package
Step 3: Once you enter into your WordPress package, select the WordPress Management under the “Actions” menu.
Step 4: Here you will see the all WordPress Installation of your website. Click the symbol as mentioned in the below image to manage.
Step 5: You will see the installation details and other options now. Click the “Clone” option under the Action menu.
Step 6: A popup window will open. You have to mention the details to create the cloning site.
Protocol -> To load the website with secure (HTTP), non-secure (HTTPS), subdomain (www).
Domain -> Choose the domain under which you want to clone the content.
Directory -> If you want to load the website with any other directory, you can enter the name here so that the website will load in the directory as you mentioned. You can leave it blank if you want to load the website without any directory.
Example: (Directory – wp) Now website will load in the URL as http://domain.com/wp and not as http://domain.com
Database -> This is will be saved as your database where your content data will get stored.
Step 7: Finally click the Confirm button. That’s it, your clone site was created.
You can check the installation details in the WordPress Installation menu. Go back to the Installation menu and you will see the URL as mentioned while creating the clone.
Again click the symbol as per the above image, You will redirect to the Page mentioned in step 5.
There select the control panel to log in to your WordPress dashboard.
You should have received the installation details in your registered email id(Check in the folders like spam and junk also).
